Mafalda will, in collobaration with Maria Nemtsova, present herself in her final masters exam at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam, and in the semifinals of the biggest soloist competition in Portugal ‘Prémio Jovens Músicos’.

One other big reason for requesting Maria Nemtsova to perform with me as a chamber music player is the choice of repertoire. I’m going to work with her on the great work “Trio for piano, viola and tenor saxophone” by Paul Hindemith, and on the “Sonata for alto saxophone and piano” by Edison Denisov. These two pieces are not only technically demanding on a pianistic sense, but also very complex in chamber music playing.< br />
I chose these pieces for my exam because I find them two of the best pieces originally written for my instrument, and because as a master student, I believe these pieces can highlight my passion and devotion to this musical genre.

We decided to support Mafalda and Maria with a gift.

We wish them luck and succes during both performances. We hope it will bring them the opportunity to play many more concerts together in the coming years.
